My stoneware forms (both functional and sculptural) are explorations of vessel archetypes. As such, they speak of growth and expansion, the capacities of holding and gestation, and functions of gathering and offering. The pinch and coil method of construction allows me to interact with the clay and respond creatively in a process of exploration, facilitating the discovery of new vessel expressions. Many of these vessel forms attest to the influence of the ceramic work of numerous ancient (and timeless) cultures and forms from nature herself. I hope that you enjoy them. I invite you to hold them to feel their weight and texture. All are high-fired stoneware, which makes them useful for preparing and holding food, and durable for service on the table, and in the microwave and dishwasher.
