Metals artist Lynda Brothen views her medium as a "solid liquid" that, properly worked or fabricated, is capable of capturing moments of grace and fluidity. Her work tends to express itself in an organic flow with balanced asymmetry, and favors materials with visual texture that serve to simultaneously complement and play off of each other.
Lynda's studies at UW Madison under Eleanor Moty, Fred Fenster, and Martha Glowacki gave her a solid foundation in art metal. Additional instruction at Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Peninsula Art School, and the Society of North American Goldsmiths have added to her skill levels.
