Linda Franzblau was born and raised in New York. As her career progressed she moved around the country working with numerous fortune 500 corporations in the Creative and Marketing Areas. While her primary medium is Jewelry design, her background in fiber arts, graphic design and printmaking continues to be a point of reference for her research and studio practice.
Linda's work uses traditional jewelry making techniques and materials while incorporating repurposed metals and acrylic materials and printmaking process to create her work. Linda's interest in design and patterns underline her work, materials interact with each other navigating the aesthetic and technical difficulties each material presents . Her curosity and tenacity to explore new materials, and make them perform in unexpected ways is a critical aspect of her jewelry making journey.
Franzblau completed her BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute and holds an MA in Marketing from Webster University. She has studied at the University of Wisconsin with Metalsmith and Designer Lisa Granlick.
