Ian Sustar

Host Artist at 15) Sustar Woodworks

Ian Sustar, the founder of Sustar Woodworks, traces his passion for woodworking back to his childhood spent in his father's shop. Immersed in the sights and sounds of craftsmanship, he absorbed wisdom and knowledge, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. In 2009, Ian embarked on a transformative journey, honing his skills at the prestigious Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers shop in Auburn, Maine. Inspired by this experience, he returned home with a new purpose, giving birth to Sustar Woodworks. At Sustar Woodworks, Ian's goal is clear: to handcraft simple yet functional heirloom furniture that embodies timeless elegance. Guided by the words of Tom Moser himself, who once said, "It takes a craftsman a lifetime to perfect the art of design," Ian embraces the lifelong journey of honing his craft. Through Sustar Woodworks, he invites you to witness the culmination of passion, dedication, and artistry in each meticulously crafted piece.
