Geryn Roche created her first pinch pot in Kindergarten, and has been working with clay ever since. She received a BFA in ceramics and a teaching certificate from the University of Iowa in 2009. She graduated with an MFA in ceramics from the University of North Texas in 2013, and has exhibited work nationally and internationally. Currently, she lives and works in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and teaches ceramics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
GerWare Ceramics is the lovechild of Geryn’s long-standing adoration of functional ceramics. Her pots are inspired by mid-century design and retro prints. She uses the pottery wheel and hand-building to create one-of-a-kind designs using terra cotta clay. Geryn decorates her pieces using a monotype printing process with underglazes, giving each piece a uniquely aged look. Geryn is committed to making usable work that turns daily routines into daily rituals.
