Baiba acquired her ceramics skills by taking classes at Cream City Clay, Adamah and UW Waukesha, attending workshops, self-study and with lots of practice. She mostly works out of her home studio in Milwaukee. She throws on the wheel, and does occasional hand building, sculptural work and glaze making. In the past several years she has had the opportunity to participate in wood firings. She is always learning and trying new techniques. Her recent work has focused on developing sculptural functional forms and glaze experimentation including manipulating firing schedules and post-firing processes with crystalline glazes.
