Leah Parkhurst
Rustbelt Fiberwerks
Guest artist at 14) Cloud 9 Workshop
Leah Parkhurst is an art historian, surface designer, and educator who began as a surface designer, training at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and eventually the Savannah College of Art and Design. From her dining room table, she founded Rustbelt Fiberwerks, selling her first products at farmer’s markets, craft fairs and galleries. A break from Rustbelt Fiberwerks led her to explore writing and research, resulting in The Limner Group, Stationery Bike and Dirty Art History. Her work blends quirky, non-fiction storytelling with functional textiles, offering a lively yet objective take on the art world. With humor and slightly tarnished charm, she emphasizes craftsmanship and quality design.
